Cultural Awareness and Allyship with Latinx People - A Curated Resource Course - ON DEMAND

Description
Latinx people make up the second largest racial or ethnic group in the US, and Latinos continue to help fuel the US economy and enrich the nation as artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, entertainers, scientists, public servants, activists, educators, and more. There are at least 21 Latin American countries or territories with innumerable cultures, ethnicities, and identities among their peoples and across the Latin American diaspora, but dominant culture in the US often distills Latinx culture and identity into just a few reductive and pejorative stereotypes. This resource library aims to represent some of the complex multi-ethnic and multi-racial identities and experiences of being Latinx /Latin@ in the US. We examine various identity descriptors and preferences, some beautiful and brilliant manifestations of "latinidad," and some ways non-Hispanic people can demonstrate better cultural awareness and allyship.
